Abdoulie Bah was born on 24 June 1948 in Banjul. He became the mayor of Banjul in 2013.
Beforehand, he worked in a variety of positions, from Community Worker for the King Fahad Mosque to Councillor Coordinator for the Compama Ward Community Policing in Banjul.
His background is community activism and social work, but it was his desire to help his community and society that brought him into politics.
From 1968 onwards, he was privately tutored in General Education at the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI).
In 2014, he was awarded an honorary degree by the Ghost Theological College.
