efferson Koijee is the first mayor to be confirmed by the Liberian Senate since the end of the civil war, being confirmed unanimously by the Senate Committee on Internal Affairs and Good Governance.
Koijee’s presentation, which contributed to his confirmation as mayor, called for inclusive governance, tolerance of religious, political and tribal differences, and the maintenance of the beauty of the city of Monrovia.
Among his promise was to launch a 180-day Clean and Green City campaign, which promises to clean up the city and provide job opportunities for the city’s youth.
He has worked to reform city laws to maintain cleanliness in the city, as well as work with Public Works to protect zoning laws. He has also worked with the police to maintain safety and security.
