Muesee Kazapua is the mayor of Windhoek since his election in 2014, the city of his birth (1980).
His passion for civic responsibility started early at the age of eight, when he joined the SWAPO Party's children platform, the SWAPO Party's Pioneers Movement.
He continued to remain loyal to the party, becoming a member as soon as he was eighteen, then volunteering in the party structures first in the National Youth Council and then in the rest of the party.
Muesee is now the youngest member of the Windhoek City Council, representing the ruling SWAPO party. He joined the Council in 2010.
At international level, Muesee represented Namibia at the Regional Youth Caucus for the Commonwealth Youth Programs Centre, based in Lusaka, Zambia, from 2005-2007.
He holds a diploma in Youth Development and a certificate in Local Government Administration and Result-Oriented Management in Public Service from ESAMI.
Muesee is currently involved with social upliftment programs that involve youth empowerment and the provision of food and materials to kindergartens.
